Bobby's Best weekly wine picks for 4/10/05

Pomelo 2004 California Sauvignon Blanc $9.99

Winemaker, Randy Mason, has just released Pomelo a unique Sauvignon Blanc from Lake County. Using his masterful hand, Mason produced a wine not only a top value, but tastes delicious too! Pomelo exhibits an extraordinary bouquet of grapefruit and floral nuances, copious quantities of citrus and white fruits, fine acidity, and a fresh and clean, medium-bodied finish.

Woop Woop 2003 Shiraz $11.99

Woop Woop is the Australian version of the slang boondocks. Woop Woop Shiraz shows up with plenty deep ruby/purple color. The bouquet shows vanilla, cherry and pepper scents and a touch of earth. It delivers loads of blackfruit flavors and a luscious supple texture. Still young, but will drink well for 1-2 years.
