Weekly Wine Picks for 8/6/05
Joel Gott 2004
A light straw color with aromas of citrus and melon and hay, while on the palate the citrus is echoed accompanied with tropical fruits and pear. A zesty finish that is long and rich but clean and minerally.
Drink with grilled halibut or shellfish
Pelerin 2003
The dark ruby color in addition to fully ripened aromas of cherries, forest floor and brown spices make this a generously-endowed Pinot Noir that shows good texture, adequate acidity and pretty ripe cherry, raspberry and wild berry flavors the come together nicely on the finish with a flash of toasty oak.
Drink with marinated squab or quail
